FULL Script –

The vision for the Lifestyle Breakthroughs podcast is to give you practical ideas and strategies to make your life better and to breakthrough obstacles that you are facing in your life.

We live in a rapidly changing world.

My generation and the generations after this go trough an old system that isn’t prepared for the world that we live in today.

The older generation believes that you need to go to school, you get good grades you work hard and you stay with the same employer in a safe and secure job until you are 65 years old or even older and then you retire.

The truth is it doesn’t work that way anymore. In today’s world there’s nothing like a save and secure job. And I speak from experience. My last job was as a teacher in Bangkok Thailand. I was teaching there for five years. I think I did a really good job. And my students enjoyed my classes, as it was filled with games, life changing ideas and inspiring conversations.

However, during the break the directors of the school changed and he wanted to save some money so instead of hiring Well-educated teachers, he hired cheap teachers from the Philippines. So I lost my “safe and secure job”.

Even though I was doing a great job,my students were happy, they got good grades and I did everything that was being asked of me.

When I talk to people from my generation and future generations they said that yhey don’t want a life with a secure job until they are 65 to retire. They want fulfillment and enjoyment and happiness. They want adventure, travel and wisdom.

However, when They share their dreams with their teachers and family they often are being misunderstood. When I shared my dreams and goals with my family they answered with things like: you can’t do that, how about work? Who is gonna pay for that? Everyone wants that… it’s impossible… So that’s the first lesson in this introduction: love your family, but keep your goals and dreams for yourself, and only share them with those who are open to them.

Older vs Newer Generations

Because these older generations still believe that you need to go to school and university, you get good grades, you stream into a safe and secure a job for the rest of your life. This is clashing with the younger generations.

And how about school? You don’t go to school to learn how to live a really full filling life.

When I started high school, my mother became suicidal. I didn’t have any friends and was often depressed and thought something was wrong with me. When I shared my feelings and tried to make friends, people didn’t believe I had a suicidal mother. So it was a really tough time for me. But, that inspired me to travel the world, to learn how to be independent and how to help myself, so now I can help others who are going to rough patches.

Nowadays you go to school to learn how to be a slave. They teach you to memorize stuff to memorize dates and facts and figures. And you’re being judged on how well you memorized this at examinations.

This is not a very inspiring way to live, is it? This is confirmed by very disturbing facts. One of the top causes of death in my generation is suicide. And suicide rates have increased dramatically over the past decade. I understand why, because people are depressed a lot, because the way they want to live their life and the way they are living their life doesn’t match and the bigger the difference the more depressed that you get.

And if DO you want to talk about it you often can’t. Because people say don’t complain just fit in and do what everyone else does. And if you can’t share your story with other people of course you’re going to feel depressed and you feel like shit and In the worst case you’re going to kill yourself and commit suicide.

One example is my cousin. He hanged himself last year in the yard of his dads farm. He was really depressed, he received antidepressant medications and you also drank a lot of alcohol. I’m sure that he could t share his story with anyone because if he did that he will be labelled a complainer and wouldnt fit in. So for him it was better in his mind to kill himself that to ben a burden to other people sharing his feelings. Which is actually total bullshit but I do understand him.

And personally I was addicted to drugs for a fee years. I was so depressed because what I wanted from life wasn’t matching what my life looks like and the difference was so big that the only way I could make myself happy was through drugs and sex.

But one day I just had enough. I learned about drugs and sex was just fake it’s just a quick fix for something that I didn’t know how to fix it. So I began my self development to learn strategies to quit my addiction and also strategies on how to be happier and healthier and to travel more, to learn more about other cultures And to quit my addiction.
